Integrative Counselling

When it comes to therapeutic support, one size rarely fits all. We’re all shaped by different experiences, challenges, and hopes, so it makes sense that integrative counselling recognises the uniqueness of each person and offers a tailored, flexible way of working together to support your wellbeing

How I Work

I am an integrative counsellor, using the person-centred approach, which means following your lead – you’re the one in control. I provide tailored support to your needs. One of the hardest aspects of therapy is accepting that we need support and then reaching out to find it. We'll address your challenges together. I endeavour to provide a safe and accepting environment that encourages you to consider different perspectives. The relationship between counsellor and client is a unique one. Every session is grounded in compassion, respect, and curiosity. Whether focusing on immediate coping strategies or exploring long-standing patterns, the goal is to support your growth in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Benefits of Integrative Counselling

It’s person-centred

You are not expected to fit the therapy—therapy is shaped around you. An integrative approach sees you as a whole person, not a diagnosis or a set of symptoms.

It allows flexibility

We can draw on a range of techniques and theories, whether you’re seeking short-term support for a specific issue or want to explore deeper, long-standing patterns.

It supports complex or layered difficulties

If you’re dealing with multiple challenges—such as trauma, relationship issues, and anxiety—integrative therapy can meet you at each level, working with both the causes and their roots.

It honours your pace

Therapy isn’t rushed. I collaborate to find what feels safe and supportive for you at each stage of your journey.

Person-Centred Therapy

"The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination."

Carl Rogers

PCT, also known as Client-Centred Therapy, is a humanistic approach developed by Carl Rogers in the 1940s. It is based on the belief that every individual has an innate capacity for personal growth, healing and self-actualisation, given the right supportive conditions. Person-Centred Therapy is a gentle yet powerful approach that creates the conditions for deep healing and growth. Rooted in empathy, respect, and authenticity, it helps people reconnect with their inner strengths and live more fully.

Key Principles of Person-Centred Therapy

  • Unconditional Positive Regards – as your therapist, I offer total acceptance and warmth towards you, without judgement or conditions.
  • Empathy – I seek to deeply understand your thoughts and feelings from your perspective.
  • Congruence (Genuineness) – I am real and transparent, not hiding behind a professional mask.
  • Client as the Expert – You are the best expert on your life, and healing happens when you are truly heard and understood.
  • Non-Directive Approach – I don’t direct the session or give advice. Instead, I follow your lead and trust in your inner capacity for change.

What happens in a session?

  • You are encouraged to speak freely in a warm, non-judgemental space.
  • I listen with care and reflect your feelings to foster insight and clarity.
  • There is no structured agenda; the focus is on self-explorations, emotional processing and personal growth.

How to get started with counselling

Getting started is simple. Just reach out, and I’ll guide you through the next steps with an initial FREE informal consultation of up to 30 minutes. I’ll ask a few questions to understand what support you’re looking for, and you can choose between seeing me in person at my Bromley-based practice room in Kent or online sessions via Zoom, so no matter where you live, you can undergo therapy from the comfort of your own home.

What to expect in your first session:

I understand that you may feel nervous when you first attend counselling - don’t worry, it’s normal. I will do everything I can to help you feel at ease. During the first session, I will warmly welcome you and introduce the counselling contract. This is an agreement of how we plan to work together, which is key to ensuring you are informed and know what to expect. Counselling contracts cover several things, including confidentiality, ethics, supervision of the counsellor, cancellations, data protection and much more. This will all be covered with you in the session, so you can ask any questions you may have. Session can take up to 75 mins (standard sessions are 50 minutes).
